Dave Carlson
Woodworker and fine furniture
maker from Helena Montana.
During
his 32 year career as a civil engineer and land surveyor woodworking
was a hobby offering a break from the number crunching
and paper shuffling of engineering. Since retiring from engineering
11 years ago Carlson has embraced woodworking full time as a custom
fine furniture maker. Both residential and office furniture as
well as small items in wood such as turned vessels, jewelry boxes,
music boxes, kaleidoscopes and a host of other items have been
produced. Carlson works with customers on furniture design, offering
scale drawings and cost estimates free of charge. Customers choose
woods, finishes and participate in design resulting in furniture
that is truly personal and fitting aesthetically as well as functionally.
Photos of past work can be viewed by contacting Carlson by phone 406-457-1785 or

Carlson
maintains an extensive resource of furniture designs and styles
and is open to working with customers to develop and incorporate
design concepts that they may wish to bring to the table or designs
using his resource materials. Average backlog on
custom furniture is about 4 months.
