Montana Quilts is the home of fiber artist Parker Snowe/aka Linda Parker, author of Montana Star Quilts, teacher, historian of Star Quilts, and designer of art quilts, bowls, custom bags and anything made from fabric.
Linda participated in the National Folk Life Festival in Butte in 2008, which was an incredible experience!
The Fire Quilts were featured in the Spring, 2008 issue of the Eudora Welty Newsletter in an article by Geraldine Chouard (Assistant-Professor at the University of Paris IX, specializing in American visual arts.)
A striking, original quilt from Parker Snowe to sleep under will warm your heart and soul every night, and create elegant charm in your room.
The Native American Plains Indians began making Star Quilts when the buffalo became scarce. The Star Quilt has been called by many names: “Lone Star,” “Star of Bethlehem,” or “Morning Star.” Our book, Montana Star Quilts, tells the history of these unique and beautiful Star Quilts, complete with vivid color photos!
Parker Snowe blog is full of little stories and tutorials. The most recent being a star quilt, so go check it out.
The Gammill Long Arm has been a great addition to the studio.
