Fire Quilts
As a wildland fire fighter
for 4 seasons I of course brought my work home with me. The fire
quilts are inspired by all of my fire fighting however the time
which stands out the most is the summer of 2000 when I was on the
Canyon Ferry fire. Each after noon the temperature would be about
100° the relative humidity would drop to about 7% and Magpie Gulch
would blow up. Fire fighting is an incredible experience.
